Cosmic Charlie was born in the musical Mecca of Athens, Georgia. From its summer 1999 inception, the band has been swiftly cementing its reputation as a band that puts a unique and personal twist on the Grateful Dead catalogue, a Dead cover band for folks that are ambivalent about Dead cover bands. Rather than mimicking the Dead exactly, Cosmic Charlie chooses to tap into the Dead's energy and style as a foundation on which to build. The result is healthy balance of creativity and tradition, and both the band and its audience are taken to that familiar edge with the sense that, music is actually being MADE here tonight.  Blue Sky Audio trucked into Frederick, MD this past June to support Cosmic Charlie's only area appearance at the 2010 Frederick Summer Concert Series.

The Fabulettes recreate that fun and frantic era of rock history when women undeniably ruled the airwaves. Blue Sky Audio supported Howard University in the celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month during their 2010 Jazz Week event featuring Jon Hendricks, Aria Hendricks and Howard University's own award-winning vocal Jazz Ensemble Afro Blue.  Jon Hendricks is not only one of the world's favorite jazz vocalists, but is widely considered to be the "Father of Vocalese", the greatest innovator of the art form. Vocalese is the art of setting lyrics to recorded jazz instrumental standards (such as the big band arrangements of Duke Ellington and Count Basie), then arranging voices to sing the parts of the instruments. Thus is created an entirely new form of the work, one that tells a lyrically interesting story while retaining the integrity of the music. Hendricks is the only person many jazz greats have allowed to lyricize their music, for no one writes hipper, wittier, or more touching words, while extracting from a tune the emotions intended by the composer, more sympathetically than Hendricks. For his work as a lyricist, jazz critic and historian Leonard Feather called him the "Poet Laureate of Jazz" while Time Magazine dubbed him the "James Joyce of Jive."  Teaming with Dave Lambert and Annie Ross, in 1957, to form the legendary vocal trio Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross, Jon and the group perfected the art of vocalese and took it around the world, earning them the designation of the "Number One Vocal Group in the World" for five years in a row from Melody Maker magazine. After six years the trio disbanded for solo careers, but not before leaving behind a catalog of legendary recordings, most of which have never gone out of print.  For additional information and tickets, call 202-806-7194, visit the Cramton Auditorium Box Office located at 2455 Sixth Street NW Washington DC., or visit www.jazzathowarduniversity.org.

DRUID is a salute to their Irishness and to all who have kept this core and substance alive wherever they may dwell. DRUID summons its audience along a musical journey, emerging from the haze of Ireland's pre-Christian times, traveling the paths of oppression, famine, emigration, on to the "Celtic Tiger" economy, and finally resting on the hopes of the future. It is a celebration of passion for life: an epic tale of mankind's determination and ability to shine ever brighter in the face of strife and misfortune.

Blue Sky Audio, Inc. Supports Feats, Inc. at Geppi Entertainment Museum
Blue Sky Audio, Inc. Supports Feats, Inc. at Geppi Entertainment MuseumBlue Sky Audio supported Feats, Inc., an award-winning event company, during a recent private event held at the Geppi Entertainment Museum in Baltimore, MD.  The production requirements called for sound to be distributed throughout the museum with as little impact to the aesthetic aspects of the environment as possible.   During the site survey for the event, it became apparent typical industrial speaker mounts and speaker cables running throughout the building and over the well-maintained wood flooring would be totally unacceptable for this event.  Blue Sky's solution to the problem was to provide self-powered speakers, beautifully-crafted speaker pedestal assemblies that blended into the museum's decor, and UHF wireless transmitters and receivers which eliminated the need to run hundreds of feet of cable.
